The Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk is a great tourist attraction for bushwalkers to the Gold Coast Hinterland. This area is famous for challenging hiking activities, bird watching and wildlife observation.
The Great Walk is a 54km bushwalk that takes approximately 3 days to complete and is considered moderate in difficulty, with some sections considered difficult.

It is essential that hikers wear appropriate clothing and footwear and are self-sufficient taking ample stores of water and food. First aid kits are also advisable as snakes have been spotted along these tracks.
Breaking the walk down into sections, there are three portions to make the walk more manageable:
Green Mountains (O’Reilly) to Binna Burra: This portion of the walk has a distance of 21.4km which takes most walkers approximately 7 hours to complete.
Binna Burra to Woonoongoora walkers’ camp: This portion of the walk is a little longer at 23.6km and will take approximately 6 to 8 hours to complete.
Woonoongoora walkers’ camp to The Settlement camping area: The short final portion of the walk is 9km and will talk approximately 4 to 5 hours to finish.
Camping spots are located along the way, so you must carry your own tent but please note that camping permits are required and fees apply.
