Metricon Stadium

Metricon Stadium (also known as Carrara Stadium) is the Gold Coast’s primary sports and entertainment venue.

Metricon Stadium is primarily used as the home ground of the Gold Coast Sun’s AFL team, and also plays host to a range of other sporting events held on the Gold Coast.

The recently revamped Metricon Stadium is currently able to seat up to 25,000 spectators and regularly does so during popular AFL matches, cricket matches, rugby, FIFA world cup matches and athletics. Further seating and standing space can be utilised on the ground itself for concerts and festivals after which the stadium can house up to 40,000 patrons.

For AFL games, the stadium’s gates open two hours prior to the game. Those travelling to Metricon Stadium by car should note that there is no public parking available, with the exception of disabled parking available for people who hold a valid disability parking permit.

Public Transport is certainly the best way to access Metricon Stadium on event days. For those travelling from Brisbane, try parking at Helensvale Train Station and take the train one stop to Nerang. From Nerang, there is a free shuttle to Metricon Stadium upon presentation of your AFL or event ticket.

Metricon Stadium is also available for hire to host your event, no matter how big or small. The Coaches Field Club is Metricon Stadium’s premier corporate venue, the Chairman’s Club is an intimate dining venue with an outdoor deck overlooking the field and the Lounge offers an indoor and outdoor experience, with BBQ, deck bar and espresso bar.
