Gold Coast Airport Marathon

The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is a major sporting event with spectators and participants worldwide. Every June or July, the Gold Coast prepares to host the biggest marathon race in the state.

Held over two days, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon has successfully been held for more than four decades and draws thousands of participants and spectators year after year.

Participants of any age can take part in this event as there is no age limit (except for the 42km marathon). There are many different races held within this event, including the Gold Coast Marathon (42.195km), ASICS Half Marathon (21.0975km), Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Airport Fun Run, Health and Wellbeing Queensland 4km Junior Dash, and the Health and Wellbeing Queensland 2km Junior Dash.

The Gold Coast Marathon is famous for its flat, fast, scenic course alongside the city’s renowned surf beaches and stunning Broadwater. 60% of participants achieve a personal best time each year, and it’s perfect if you’re aiming for a Boston Marathon qualification.
