The Gold Coast Open (previously known as the Burleigh Pro) is a yearly surfing competition hosted by the World Surf League and is hosted at Burleigh Heads in Queensland.
Burleigh Heads is the perfect location for this surfing championship, as it has a natural amphitheatre from which spectators can watch this event.

As well as the monetary prize, the competitors will also be vying for the World Surf League Qualifying Series points in order to compete in other world-class competitions around the world.
The competition generally runs from 8am to 4pm each day; this depends on conditions, with wind and surf being monitored closely throughout the day.
To get to Burleigh Heads, just travel south for 13kms (20 minutes) along state route 3. From Coolangatta Airport, head north for 13kms (20 minutes) via the M1.
Whilst in Burleigh Heads, check out the beautiful scenery and grab lunch or dinner at one of the many cafes and restaurants in town.

Not sure. I am unable to find any info from the Burliegh Pro organisers as to whether there will be market stalls. If you manage to find the answer, please let us know and I will update our page.
